What yarns do you recommend?
Each project is different. I generally design my patterns based on the yarn in the pattern, but there’s no reason you can’t change things up!
Online sources I love:
Deramore’s They’re a UK company, and while their shipments don’t arrive as quickly as Amazon (who does? LOL), they do have a great selection of brands that are hard to find in the USA and really good prices. It typically takes about 2 weeks to receive orders in the US. If you’re lucky enough to live in the UK, I think you get it next day! Plus, they have a points program so you earn discounts with ever purchase. Follow my link and you’ll get $5 off your first purchase. Scheepjes, Stylecraft, Sirdar, Rico, Rowan, Paton’s, King Cole, as well as many other brands.
Wool Warehouse Also a UK company, with the same time frame for shipping. Similar brands. They have a lot of colors in stock when others may not.
Jimmy Beans Wool Here in the US. If they don’t have it, nobody will. Colors might go in and out of stock, but they typically replenish frequently. They have a great rewards program too, so be sure to sign up. And, mention my name when you make your first purchase and you’ll help me keep my patterns free. They’ve even started carrying Scheepjes which has previously been kind of hard to find here in the US. I’m not sure how long they’ve been carrying it, because I only just found this out as I’m typing this post! I particularly love that they suggest substitute yarns if you’re having a hard time getting everything you need.

Currently my patterns are available on my website as I release them. I’m working on getting things set up on Ravelry and will post when that’s established. I have a few patterns that have been published in magazines, and I will share links here and to Ravelry as they are available.
